quant definition - finance
Derived from the word quantitative, a quant is a person who possesses strong quantitative, or mathematical, skills. Quantitative analysts are employed by financial services businesses, such as life insurance companies, pension funds, money management, and other Wall Street firms. Quants may focus on sales projections, risk management, and the cost of capital.
