purchase and sale statement definition - finance
A statement mailed by a futures commission merchant to a customer when a futures or options position has been sold or offset. The details of the statement include the number of contracts bought or sold and the prices that were received, the gross profit or loss, commission charges, and the net profit or loss on the transaction. Also called confirmation statement.
