productivity and cost data definition - finance
Data such as output per hour, unit labor costs, hours worked, and compensation per hour that are reported one month after the end of each quarter by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The data provides information about potential wage pressures and thus indicates whether inflation may become a problem. If inflation is a concern in the financial markets, this report will be widely watched.
