online bank definition - finance
A bank that does not do business at a physical location and is accessed only through the Internet and the telephone. Accounts at online banks may earn higher rates of interest, since the banks are attempting to attract capital. Online banks allow checking accounts to be viewed online. Electronic funds transfers between different banks also are allowed. Bills may be paid online as well.
