New York Futures Exchange definition - finance
A wholly-owned subsidiary of the New York Cotton Exchange (NYCE), which was combined into the New York Board of Trade in 1998 along with the Coffee, Cocoa and Sugar Exchange (CCSE). The NYFE trades futures and options on the NYSE Composite Index, which is based on approximately 2,000 common stocks, and the CRB/Bridge Index, based on the Commodity Research Bureau/Bridge Index of 21 commodity components. Futures also are traded on the Pacific Stock ExchangeÂ’s Technology Index, representing 100 listed and over-the-counter stocks from 15 different technology industries. The NYCE was acquired from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in December 1993.
