NASDAQ Industrial Index

NASDAQ Industrial Index definition - finance
A measure of the performance of NASDAQ-listed companies that are not in one of the other NASDAQ indices, such as the computer, biotechnology, or banking indices. This leaves agricultural, mining, construction, manufacturing, retail and wholesale trade, services, and public administration enterprises, as well as health maintenance organizations and companies not included in NASDAQÂ’s Biotechnology Index. It began in February 1971 with a base of 100.00.
