midcap definition - finance
Short for mid-capitalization, a measure of the size of a company by market capitalization. Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the price of a companyÂ’s stock by the number of shares outstanding. The definition of what is midcap will vary, but generally a midcap company has a market capitalization that ranges from $1 billion to $5 billion.
