CanadaÂ’s Minister of Finance who was appointed in June 2002. Previously, Manley was the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada (January 2002 to June 2002), Minister of Foreign Affairs (in 2000) and the Minister of Industry (in 1993). He was first elected to the House of Commons in 1988 and he is a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. He is a business and tax lawyer by training and was the chairman of the Ottawa-Carleton Board of Trade in 1985.
