The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recognizes companies that have successfully imple-mented total quality management principles to prevent errors and create high-quality products or services. The award is named for Malcolm Baldrige, who was President Ronald ReaganÂ’s Secretary of Commerce until he died in 1987. The Foundation for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award was established in 1988.
