business organization or investment structure in which the general partners
manage the business and assume the legal risk and obligation. The limited
partners share in the partnershipÂ’s returns, but they arenÂ’t liable for the
partnershipÂ’s debts, so they can lose only the amount of their investment A
limited partnership often exists to make specific investments or is created to
make venture capital investments.
