league table definition - finance
A list that shows how various investment banks stack up against their competitors in a variety of categories, such as mergers, debt, equity, and initial public offerings. Thomson Corp. has software that tracks the deal data and that produces league tables. In recent years, other competitors have launched competing products. Information providers such as Thomson charge a yearly fee to corporations to access their database, using Internet-based software, in order to create the league tables.
