King, Mervyn definition - finance
The governor of the Bank of England, who took over in July 2003, replacing Sir Edward George who retired. Previously he was the deputy governor at the Bank, a position that began June 1998. Before that he was the Bank of EnglandÂ’s chief economist and executive director since March 1991. From October 1984 he was a professor of economics at the London School of Economics.
