An introducing broker who works with many different futures commission merchants to match potential clients up with companies that can process their trades. An independent introducing broker works for himself or herself, as opposed to working exclu-sively with one company. The independent introducing broker is subject to minimum capital and financial reporting requirements in order to meet the requirements of the futures exchanges and regulatory authorities.
