HUBZone Program definition - finance
The
HUBZone Empowerment Contracting Program is a governmental program designed to
stimulate economic development and create jobs in depressed urban and rural
communities by giving small businesses incentives to hire employees who live in
a HUBZone. The Small Business Administration regulates and manages the program.
In return for hiring people in that area, small businesses are given priority
treatment when federal agencies contract with vendors.
