heavy crude

heavy crude definition - finance
A grade of crude oil. Heavy crude oil is challenging to produce because its low gravity level and high viscosity restrict its ability to flow. Technically speaking, heavy crude oil contains a large number of heavy hydrocarbon fractions because it has a high specific gravity, a low API gravity, which is lower than 20 degrees, and its viscosity is higher than 1,000 centipoise.
