A capitalization-weighted index of 33 companies representing about 70 percent of the market capitalization of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The index has 4 subindices: Commerce and Industry, Finance, Utilities, and Properties. The index began on July 31, 1964 with a base of 100.
