A
futures contract whose underlying instruments are securities such as U.S.
Treasury bonds, eurodollars, currencies, or stock market indices. Financial
futures contrast with agricultural futures contracts, which are based on
agricultural products such as wheat, cattle, hogs, coffee, and butter.
