Federal Register definition - finance
The official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of federal agencies and organizations as well as Executive Orders and other presidential documents. Proposed laws and regulations, including those involving securities matters, must be published in the Federal Register, often for a 30-day period, before they become law. Governmental agencies and Congress pass the regulations or laws that are published in the Federal Register, which is maintained by the U.S. governmentÂ’s Office of the Federal Register.
