Eaton, Cyrus definition - finance
The founder of Republic Steel Corporation, which was formed from six small steel firms that he owned. Eaton also took over Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and battled for control of the Chesapeake & Ohio railroad with the House of Morgan banking concern and won. He also built the St. Lawrence Seaway. Eaton wrote books that criticized capitalism.
