divisor definition - finance
A number that Dow Jones & Company uses to compute the value of the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA). The value of the 30 DJIA stocks are divided by the divisor to arrive at the DJIA. The divisor changes as stock splits occur. The divisor is reported daily in the Wall Street Journal.
