The
number of companies whose price fell during the trading session. Volume is
separated into declining volume, advancing volume, and unchanged. By comparing
the volume of stocks that are advancing and the volume of stocks that are
declining, it is possible to determine how strong the market move was. Volume
details are published daily in financial newspapers.
