credit quality rating definition - finance
An evaluation of a companyÂ’s creditworthiness, and thus the creditworthiness of its debt, that is made by an independent rating service. Typically, ratings services issue a rating that ranges from AAA, the best, to D, which indicates that the company is in bankruptcy, or soon will be.
