  1. In the securities industry (investment management companies or trust companies), combining customersÂ’ money and securities with the brokerÂ’s funds.
  2. For law firms, combining client funds that are received in settlement of a lawsuit with the firmÂ’s money; this is strictly prohibited by lawyersÂ’ ethics rules.
