cocoa
cocoa definition - finance
A
raw-foods good whose futures are traded on the Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa
Exchange (CSCE), which is a subsidiary of the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT).
Futures and options contracts are traded on the CSCE, as well as other
exchanges. One of the important reports followed by the industry is the
quarterly cocoa grind report that is published by the Chocolate Manufacturers
Assoc. of the U.S.A. and the New York Board of Trade. Cocoa contracts are
traded by cocoa growers and chocolate processors in order to protect themselves
against sharp price movements that could create a loss.
