capacity utilization definition - finance
An economic statistic that shows what percentage of the capacity at U.S. manufacturing plants is being used. It is cited as a percentage, such as 75.6 percent. The data is included in the monthly industrial production statistics that are released by the Federal Reserve Board each month around the 15th.
