blowoff top definition - finance
A chart pattern identified in technical analysis, in which a trading system attempts to determine future price movements by looking at patterns on price charts. A blowoff occurs at major market tops when prices suddenly stage a sharp rally after a long advance. Trading volume and open interest rise sharply.
