• downright: It may well be a matter of the heart, but that makes it irrational even if it is not downright stupid!

• unbelievably: Oh, all right, if you insist, but this is all so unbelievably stupid and tedious.

• plain: Yet I wasn't naïve, I was just plain stupid.

Infinitive complement

• realize: That young Hoon must be blind or stupid to not realize he was asking for trouble with this kind of venture.

• believe: Surely there is no-one stupid enough to actually believe this nonsense?

• think: Are you really stupid enough to think that it will help the situation?

Modifies a noun

• grin: That we can hear slightly muffled, sitting in the sun grinning big stupid grins, not believing our luck?

• appear: He may often appear stupid, and is inclined to be resentful of more spiritual types.
