Escambia

(ə-skămˈbē-ə)

A river rising in southeast Alabama as the Conecuh River and flowing about 372 km (231 mi) southwest to join Escambia Creek, about 121 km (75 mi) long, and then southward into northwest Florida, where it empties into Escambia Bay, an arm of the Gulf of Mexico near Pensacola.
