(Dolby High-Dynamic Range) A family of high-contrast LED backlight technologies for LCD TVs from Dolby Laboratories. Dolby Contrast Introduced in 2008, Dolby Contrast is an LED backlight technology that uses local dimming to increase the dynamic range between the brightest and darkest pixels of the image.
