A peripheral connection technology via USB from DisplayLink (www.displaylink.com). Monitors with built-in DisplayLink chips allow Windows computers to use up to six monitors via USB. For laptops and Windows 8 tablets with USB ports, DisplayLink docking stations provide connections to an external monitor, audio and Ethernet. The company was originally Newnham Research, founded in 2003, and renamed DisplayLink in 2006.
