How to measure the CVP The CVP is measured using a manometer filled with intravenous fluid attached to the central venous catheter.
Observe the effect on CVP, blood pressure, pulse, urine output and capillary refill.
The tip of the CVP line should lie in the superior vena cava just above its junction with the right atrium.
