Semantic Scramble

For a year now yourDictionary has been distributing its Word of the Day to a widening circle of logoleptic verbivores. Several subscribers have asked for a way to maintain their new vocabulary. In response, yourDictionary now provides Word-of-the-Day crossword puzzles each month. Now we are adding a definition game, Semantic Scramble, to help you maintain your mastery of these words. We hope you enjoy playing them as much as we enjoyed building them for you.

INSTRUCTIONS. Begin the game by pressing the Press to Start button. When a word appears in the top window, select the best definition by clicking one of the four definition buttons. You will see whether your selection is correct in the bottom line and, if not, which definition is correct. (The bottom line is the bottom line of the game.) You may bring up the next word by clicking Next Word.

At the end of each game the number and percentage of correct definitions will appear. Click the link in the bottom left corner to try another 10 words.
