Coy, George W. Telecom Definition
The inventor of the first practical telephone exchange switch, which was placed into service on January 28, 1878, in New Haven, Connecticut. This manual exchange, or cordboard, allowed the flexible interconnection of 21 subscribers. See also central office and cordboard.
