Conscious Parallelism Definition

A decision by a business, made independently and without any agreement with a competitor, to follow a particular course of conduct that a competitor has already taken. See also conspiracy.

(law): In United States antitrust law, price fixing that occurs without direct communication between the participants, but where the participants instead intentionally follow one another in raising prices to maximize profits at the expense of competitive pricing.
