Installing a peripheral in a computer or connecting a computer or device to a network without requiring any technical configuration by the user. Plug and Play is a peripheral example, and Universal Plug And Play (UPnP), Zeroconf and Jini are network examples. See Zeroconf, UPnP, Jini and Plug and Play.
