XA-Core

XA-Core definition - computer

A highly modular, multiprocessing architecture for DMS telephone switches from Nortel Networks. Using processor, memory and I/O cards that are independent of each other, which can be added (hot plugged) during normal operation, processing capacity can be added in small increments at any time instead of replacing the entire CPU and memory. The XA-Core architecture reduced obsolescence and prolonged the customer's capital investment.
