XLink definition - computer

(XML LINKing Language) A W3C standard that is used to link XML documents. A "simple" link is similar to the common link on an HTML page that points to another Web page or to a resource to download. An "extended" link defines a relationship between two or more documents.

XLink can link a document to an external link database (linkbase) that contains a list of links, and the linkbase can be loaded automatically. See XSL and XML.
