World Wide Wait
What many have called the Web while waiting patiently for the next page to download. The World Wide Wait is caused by any combination of a slow modem, overloaded Web server at the site you are accessing or any clog in one of the routers or switches at a national, regional or local ISP. See ISP and Wild Wooly Web.
