WordStar diamond

WordStar diamond definition - computer

The pattern of W-A-Z, E-S-D-X, and R-F-C keys used with the Ctrl key in WordStar. It allowed all scrolling functions to be done with the left hand in its normal keyboard position. Although it became a de facto standard, this clever system faded into history after IBM moved the Ctrl key on its Enhanced keyboard and the mouse became popular.
