WISPr definition - computer

(Wireless Internet Service Project Roaming) A technology from the Wi-Fi Alliance that allows users to access wireless LANs in a similar fashion to cellphones. Pronounced "whisper," WISPr is designed for service providers. A Wi-Fi Zone logo signals users that they are currently within a wireless hotspot. A RADIUS server is used for authentication.
