Virtual PC definition - computer

Virtual machine software from Microsoft that enables multiple DOS, Windows or OS/2 operating systems to run simultaneously in the same machine. Virtual PC is Microsoft's virtualization solution for client PCs, whereas Virtual Server is designed for server environments (see Microsoft Virtual Server).

Microsoft acquired Virtual PC from Connectix in 2003 and turned Connectix's Virtual PC for Windows into its own Microsoft Virtual PC program. See Virtual PC for Mac.
