VESA BIOS Extension/Audio Interface definition - computer

A VESA standard for sound cards. Like the VBE for display adapters (see above), the purpose of the VESA BIOS Extension/Audio Interface (VBE/AI) is to provide a standard sound card interface across all platforms and environments. It also allows sound cards to be programmed using 32-bit instructions.
