unbalanced line definition - computer

Refers to a cable design that uses different wire types for the signal and ground. Coaxial cable is an unbalanced line, because the signal wire is a small solid wire, and the ground wire is a braided metal that wraps around the inner wire and insulation. Contrast with balanced line.
