TSAPI definition - computer

(Telephony Services API) A telephony programming interface from Novell and AT&T. Based on the international CSTA standard, TSAPI is designed to interface a telephone PBX with a NetWare server to provide interoperability between PCs and telephone equipment.

The interfacing on this telephone PBX was quite manual, and they didn't care much about connecting to their personal computers! This switchboard was used to switch calls for all the laywers in Richmond, Virginia in 1882. (Image courtesy of AT&T.)
