TRUSTe definition - computer

(TRUSTe, San Francisco, CA, www.truste.org) A non-profit organization founded in 1997 by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and the CommerceNet Consortium. Its mission is to promote privacy on the Internet. The TRUSTe seal, known as a "trustmark," signifies that the Web site will publicly state how all information obtained from you will be disclosed to others, and if there are options you can select.
