triple play

triple play definition - computer

Offering data, voice and video to a subscriber via a single telephone or cable connection. Although data and video typically ride over an IP backbone, depending on the carrier, voice may be delivered via the traditional telephone network or via voice over IP (see VoIP).

The "triple" may even be used as a brand; for example, in 2007, Verizon offered its fiber-optic "FiOS Triple Freedom" plan, which included TV, Internet and phone service (see FiOS).
