T3 definition - computer

A 44.736 Mbps point-to-point, digital dedicated line provided by the telephone companies. A T3 line provides 672 64-Kbps voice or data channels. T3 channels are widely used on the Internet, although major backbones typically use optical networks (see SONET). See T-carrier and DS.
