Structured Storage definition - computer

A file structure from Microsoft for storing compound elements, such as compound documents and the persistent data of COM objects. Contained within one file, its structure looks like a miniature disk drive with the Root storage at the top of the hierarchy and Storages (folders) and Streams (files) below.
