soft launch

soft launch definition - computer

A Web site that is implemented in stages rather than all at once. Unlike other publishing media, such as a book or CD-ROM, which requires the entire project to be completed before it is distributed, a Web site can easily be deployed in pieces. The Web medium allows for an ever-expanding online publication that can be routinely updated.
