SND file
(SouND file) One of several digital audio file formats that were created by Apple, NeXT and others. It typically refers to an uncompressed sound file used on the Macintosh. SND files use the .SND extension. In the Mac, digitized sounds can be stored as SND and AIFF files, or as resources in the resource fork.
